10 Best Loyalty Program Software Platforms for Retail and E-Commerce [2026]

The average shopper is enrolled in eight loyalty programs and actively uses five, according to Deloitte’s 2025 loyalty program survey, and 40% sometimes forget to redeem their rewards. Loyalty program software exists to close that gap: members have to notice their points and come back to spend them.

The options run from free Shopify apps to enterprise suites at $20,000–$45,000 a month, and the features that bring members back, like tiers, points in email, and in-store redemption, often sit on higher plans.

This guide compares ten loyalty platforms for retail and e-commerce brands, from free Shopify apps to enterprise suites, on five questions: whether customers see their points, how loyalty data reaches email and SMS, what you pay as orders grow, whether the program works in stores, and who runs it after launch. Prices were checked on vendors’ own pages in October 2026, and complaints come from reviews from the last 12 months.

Quick Verdict on the Best Loyalty Program Software

The best loyalty program software for retail and e-commerce in 2026 are Maestra, Smile.io, LoyaltyLion, Yotpo Loyalty, Kangaroo Rewards, Voucherify, Antavo, Salesforce Loyalty Management, Capillary Technologies, and GRAVTY. Smile.io fits small Shopify stores, LoyaltyLion Shopify Plus brands that run Klaviyo, and Salesforce Loyalty Management enterprises already on Salesforce. Maestra is the strongest pick for mid-size and enterprise retail brands: loyalty, email, SMS, and onsite messages share one real-time customer profile, and a Forward Deployed Marketer maps the strategy and builds the program.

Best for small Shopify stores starting free: Smile.io – free up to 200 orders a month, VIP tiers from $199/mo

Best for Shopify Plus brands on Klaviyo: LoyaltyLion – partner-level Klaviyo integration and up to seven tier levels

Best for reviews and loyalty from one vendor: Yotpo Loyalty – points for photo and video reviews, with support for platforms beyond Shopify

Best for multi-location local businesses: Kangaroo Rewards – tablet and QR loyalty at the register, geofenced offers, and a branded app

Best for engineering teams building custom loyalty: Voucherify – loyalty, promotions, referrals, and gift cards behind one API

Best for enterprise programs with complex tiers and gamification: Antavo – challenges, badges, clubs, and a no-code workflow editor

Best for enterprises already running Salesforce: Salesforce Loyalty Management – loyalty events trigger Marketing Cloud journeys

Best for airlines, hotel groups, and coalition programs: GRAVTY – 400 million+ members in production and programs with hundreds of partners

How to Choose Loyalty Program Software

Feature lists look alike across this category. These five checks show where the platforms differ.

1. Whether Customers Will See Their Points

Members can’t spend points they forget about. Check where each platform can show a balance: only on the account page, or also in the cart, on product pages, in popups, email, and SMS. In the demo, ask to see a real cart email with a points balance in it.

Before Urban Armor Gear moved to Maestra, its loyalty program was practically invisible to shoppers. Nick Salisbury, the brand’s E-commerce Director, describes the fix: “Instead of confusing rules, we have a simple 1 point = $1 offer, and loyalty information is included in all key communications so the program can’t be ignored.”

2. How Loyalty Data Reaches Email and SMS

A standalone loyalty app sends points to your email tool through an integration, and the depth depends on the plan. Yotpo passes data to Klaviyo from its Pro plan, while LoyaltyLion’s real-time Klaviyo events come with its Plus plan. When loyalty and messaging share one profile, a tier change or a new balance is available to every campaign at once.

Svaha USA moved its loyalty program to Maestra, and one adaptive email block now shows members their tier and points balance while inviting everyone else to join. Points land on every review and purchase, and loyalty tickets no longer reach the support queue.

3. What You Pay as Orders Grow

Shopify apps price by monthly orders. Smile.io’s Growth plan includes 2,500 orders and then adds $20 per 100, and Yotpo’s Pro plan goes from $199 at 500 orders to $599 at 5,000–5,999. Enterprise suites sign annual contracts: Salesforce Loyalty Management bills annually from $20,000 a month.

Other models bill on something else entirely. Antavo counts engaged members, Voucherify counts API calls, and Maestra counts active profiles. Price each option at next year’s order volume before you compare.

G-Plans, a personalized nutrition brand with 7 million customers, saw its marketing costs go down after moving off Klaviyo. Jon Powell, its Head of Experimentation and Conversion Rate Optimization, explains why: “Maestra offers more flexible pricing – unlike Klaviyo, which gets expensive with our 7 million customers.”

4. Whether the Program Works in Your Stores

If you sell in physical stores, ask how a cashier finds the member and applies points. Smile.io, LoyaltyLion, and Yotpo all work with Shopify POS. Other POS systems change the picture: Yotpo supports them only on Premium and Enterprise, and LoyaltyLion needs Advanced for more than one location. Kangaroo Rewards and Capillary build in-store loyalty into the core product, and Maestra covers custom POS systems with a dedicated module.

In Maestra, the cashier identifies a member the same way the website does, so points earned online can be spent at the register and the other way around.

5. Who Runs the Program After Launch

Self-serve apps give you the controls, and your team finds the time to use them. Enterprise suites usually involve partners: Salesforce recommends Professional Services or certified partners for implementation, and GRAVTY sells strategy work on a retainer. Maestra includes a marketer who suggests and builds promotions on every plan.

At I Love Linen, the brand’s Maestra marketer suggested a one-day Double Points Day and set it up in a couple of minutes. The emails came together almost as fast, from templates and prebuilt segments.

1. Maestra – Best for Brands That Want a Marketer Building and Tuning Their Loyalty Program

Maestra homepage

Starting price: From $2,310/mo (CDP + Shopify loyalty module; first 100,000 active profiles)

Rating: 4.8 on G2

Maestra runs the loyalty program on the same customer profile as email, SMS, push, and the website. Points, tiers, referrals, promo codes, and gift cards are part of the platform, so a points balance can appear in a cart email or a site popup with no integration in between.

Every account also gets a Forward Deployed Marketer, a Maestra marketer who both sets the strategy and does the hands-on work. That person maps your loyalty strategy, moves the program over, builds it, and creates and optimizes the campaigns that bring members back.

Key Features

Points, Tiers, and Rewards Set to Your Own Rules

Customers earn points for purchases, reviews, review photos, social follows, birthdays, or a shared phone number. Tiers can follow spend, points, or purchase count, and rewards range from points and cashback to discounts and free perks. Redemption rules are yours to set, for example 1 point = $1 with up to half of an order payable in points.

Jewellerybox keeps its rules simple on purpose: every £1 spent earns a point, reviews and birthdays earn extra, and 100 points buy £5 off the next order.

Jewellerybox shows every way to earn points and both rewards on one page, so customers always know what their balance buys

Points Reminders on the Site and in Email

A balance only works if the customer sees it. Maestra can show it on every page in a corner tab, on product pages next to reviews, in an exit-intent popup for point holders, and in email blocks with the live balance.

Jewellerybox set up all four after leaving Yotpo. Between February and August 2026, the share of buyers who redeem points grew from 1.7% to 3.3%, and redeemers’ share of monthly revenue from 3.1% to 5.4%.

Jewellerybox puts the reward message next to product reviews, so shoppers see their £10 balance at the moment they decide to buy

Points Promotions Launched in Minutes

Promotions target any segment from the customer data platform and can be limited to specific SKUs, dates, or store locations. When several offers could apply to one order, an arbitration tree decides which wins and how they stack. Unique promo codes, referral links, and gift cards are managed in the same place.

Tier discounts, bonus-point rules, and personal promotions sit in one builder, where the team decides which offer wins when several apply

I Love Linen ran a Double Points Day during one of its sales. It became the brand’s strongest sales day of the month: sales grew 31% and orders 19% against the sale-period baseline.

Loyalty Reports Built Around Profit

The loyalty report tracks program reach, point redemptions, discounts granted, and changes in average order value, and promotions can be A/B tested against each other.

The loyalty dashboard puts program reach, redemption rate, average discount, and the share of revenue from members on one screen

JOLYN’s report goes further. It leaves out one international market that skewed every average and adds profit per customer: members who redeem points bring $96 each, against $75 for those who don’t.

JOLYN’s loyalty report now shows profit per customer, so the team sees that redeemers bring $96 against $75 for everyone else

Shopify Checkout and In-Store Redemption

The free Maestra Companion App installs from the Shopify App Store without developer work. It brings loyalty into checkout and customer accounts, where shoppers see challenges and offers and redeem points for a personal promo code right before paying.

At JOLYN’s checkout, a widget shows the shopper’s points balance and every code they’ve earned, and 100 points turn into $10 off without leaving the page.

JOLYN’s checkout widget lists the shopper’s balance and earned codes, so points get spent at the moment of purchase

Brands with physical stores run the same program at the register. Points earned on the website can be spent in a store, and the other way around.

Maestra Support

Each Forward Deployed Marketer works with around 15 customers and typically responds within 5 minutes on Slack, with four meetings a month on top. Technical issues go to a separate support team.

The Maestra team does 99% of the migration work, and the old platform stays live until the new setup is ready. Furniture Fair’s Digital Marketing Manager, Kyle Cannon, describes the pace: “With two dedicated Maestra marketers who communicate with me daily via Slack, we move at a pace I haven’t seen anywhere else.”

Maestra Pricing

Maestra’s Shopify loyalty module costs $1,010/month on top of the customer data platform base ($1,300/month), so a loyalty setup starts at $2,310/month with the first 100,000 active profiles included. The base already covers product recommendations, reporting, and the Forward Deployed Marketer. Most brands add unlimited email for $700/month.

Above 100,000, each active profile costs $0.013 a month, and inactive profiles are never billed. Brands that run loyalty through a custom POS use a separate module. Billing is month-to-month, with no setup or onboarding fees. The Maestra pricing calculator builds an estimate for your profile count.

Where Maestra Wins

Loyalty that every channel knows about. The program, email, SMS, and onsite messages read one profile, so a member’s tier and balance can shape the next campaign, popup, or offer without exports or syncs.

Fewer tools to pay for. Urban Armor Gear replaced Klaviyo, Yotpo Loyalty, and Frosmo with Maestra and cut marketing stack costs 64%, about $100,000 a year.

A marketer on every plan. A named marketer maps the strategy, adjusts the rules, and creates and optimizes campaigns, so the program keeps improving without an agency or a new hire.

Where Maestra Falls Short

No free or self-serve plan. A store with a few hundred orders a month will find a $0 Shopify app easier to justify than a $2,310 starting point, unless the move also retires several other tools.

No reviews module. Maestra can reward reviews with points, but it doesn’t host or display product reviews, so brands keep a separate reviews app.

2. Smile.io – Best for Small Shopify Stores Starting Free

Smile.io homepage

Starting price: Free plan available (up to 200 orders/mo); paid from $15/mo

Rating: 4.9 on the Shopify App Store

Smile.io is a loyalty app for Shopify and BigCommerce stores, with points, referrals, and VIP tiers. It holds both the Built for Shopify badge and Shopify Certified Technology Partner status, and brands like e.l.f., Liquid Death, and Eddie Bauer run programs on it.

Key Features

A Free Plan With No Time Limit

Stores under 200 orders a month get points, referrals, discount and free-shipping rewards, custom branding, 24 languages, and Shopify POS for as long as they stay under the cap. Going over doesn’t switch the program off: Smile.io sends an upgrade reminder the following month.

Smile.io’s free plan includes referrals, with separate rewards for the customer who refers and the friend who buys

VIP Tiers and Points Expiry on Growth

The $199 Growth plan adds VIP tiers, points expiry from 3 days to 2 years, Loyalty Hub (a points page inside Shopify customer accounts), and unlimited integrations. Checkout redemption also comes with Growth, but only for Shopify Plus stores.

Smile.io’s Loyalty Hub shows members when their points expire and how much more they need to spend to reach the next tier

Nudges and Onsite Embeds

From the $15 Essential plan, nudges remind shoppers about their points on the site. Standard ($79) adds bonus events and embeds on product and thank-you pages.

A Smile.io embed on the product page tells shoppers how many points the item earns before they add it to the cart

Ways to Earn and Redeem Points

Every plan, Free included, gets 10+ ways to earn, from orders and account sign-ups to birthdays and social follows. Points buy dollar or percentage discounts, free shipping, or Shopify store credit, and free-product rewards start on the $15 Essential plan.

Smile.io points program settings with ways to earn and ways to redeem points
Smile.io keeps ways to earn and ways to redeem on one settings page, so a small team can change the program without outside help

Loyalty Revenue and ROI Reports

Smile.io counts loyalty revenue as sales where a Smile discount was used: points redemptions, referral rewards, and VIP perks. Analytics come with every paid plan, ROI and customer lifetime value insights start on the $79 Standard plan, and financial reports on Plus.

Smile.io Support

Support works Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00 Eastern, excluding holidays. The $999 Plus plan adds priority support, a migration and launch plan, and quarterly program monitoring.

Smile.io Pricing

Free plan available (up to 200 orders/mo). Essential costs $15/mo for 500 orders, Standard $79/mo for 1,000, and Growth $199/mo for 2,500, then $20 per extra 100 orders. Plus is $999/mo billed annually with 7,500 orders, and Enterprise is a custom quote for retailers above $40M in revenue. Essential, Standard, and Growth come with a 14-day free trial through Shopify billing.

Where Smile.io Wins

A free start that lasts. A small store can run a real program for $0 and move up only when orders grow.

Prices you can read before a sales call. Every plan up to Plus is published, and VIP tiers come at $199/mo, while Yotpo and LoyaltyLion put tiers on custom-priced plans or add-ons.

Where Smile.io Falls Short

Features gated by plan and platform. API access and custom earning actions start at Plus, checkout redemption needs Shopify Plus, and the platform list ends at Shopify and BigCommerce. A merchant wrote in February 2026 that Smile.io is “hard to redeem on POS and pushing you to upgrade to higher plans for easier to use features.”

Slow replies. “The customer service response time is extremely slow – even after seeing the messages, they take 2–3 days to reply back,” another store complained in May 2026.

Compared to Maestra

Smile.io is the cheapest way to get a points program live on Shopify, and your team runs it alone. Maestra costs more and covers more: the program shares a profile with email, SMS, and site popups, and a Forward Deployed Marketer builds the program and creates and optimizes the campaigns around it. A store that will stay under a few thousand orders a month is usually better off with Smile.io.

3. LoyaltyLion – Best for Shopify Plus Brands That Run Klaviyo

LoyaltyLion homepage

Starting price: Free plan available (recommended up to 400 orders/mo); paid from $199/mo

Rating: 4.6 on the Shopify App Store

LoyaltyLion is built for Shopify and Shopify Plus. It’s a Shopify Certified Technology Partner, a Klaviyo Elite Master Partner, and a launch partner for Shopify’s new customer accounts.

Key Features

Loyalty Data in Klaviyo

Points balances, tiers, and rewards sync to Klaviyo for segments and flows. Real-time Advanced Klaviyo Events and automated LoyaltyLion Flows come with the Plus plan.

Klaviyo birthday flow split into Bronze, Silver, and Gold emails by LoyaltyLion tier

With LoyaltyLion’s tier synced to Klaviyo, one birthday flow sends a different email to Bronze, Silver, and Gold members

Tiers With Up to Seven Levels

Tiers can follow spend, points, or orders, on a rolling or calendar-year basis, with up to 7 levels (12 counting conditional and hidden tiers). They’re included from Advanced and sold as an add-on on Classic.

LoyaltyLion mixes spend-based tiers with conditional and hidden ones, such as a tier only for active subscribers

Shopify POS and Wallet Passes

Shopify POS earning and redemption works on Classic for one location and on Advanced and Plus for several. Loyalty Pass puts the member card in Apple and Google Wallet with push messages, as a paid add-on on any plan.

LoyaltyLion Loyalty Pass setup with a wallet card preview and push notifications

LoyaltyLion’s Loyalty Pass puts the points balance and tier in the customer’s phone wallet and sends reminders when rewards unlock or points expire

Multi-Store and Multi-Language Programs

Several storefronts can share one subscription with cross-store rewards, with each extra production store billed separately. Advanced adds translation into 130+ languages.

LoyaltyLion language settings with Catalan, Greek, Spanish, and Dutch translations complete

LoyaltyLion tracks translation progress for each language, so one program can run in several markets

Activity Rules With Per-Rule Stats

Activity rules decide when customers earn points, from purchases and reviews to social follows and custom actions sent through the API. Each rule can be capped per day, week, month, or year, and the Rules page shows how many times every rule has fired.

LoyaltyLion activity rules for purchases, account creation, referrals, reviews, and comments
LoyaltyLion shows how often each earning rule fires and how many points it has handed out, so the team can see which actions members respond to

Loyalty Challenges

On Advanced and Plus, challenges reward members for hitting a set of milestones built from orders, subscriptions, reviews, or referrals. LoyaltyLion tracks each member’s progress and sends the reward once every milestone is done.

LoyaltyLion Support

The free plan gets email and in-app chat. Classic and above add an onboarding manager and a program review every six months on request, and Plus adds a dedicated customer success manager with quarterly reviews.

LoyaltyLion Pricing

Free plan available, recommended for stores up to 400 orders a month, with three earning actions and money-off vouchers. Classic costs $199/mo with 500 orders included, a loyalty page built for you, and a 14-day trial. Advanced and Plus are custom quotes.

Where LoyaltyLion Wins

Klaviyo-first stacks. For a Shopify Plus brand that already runs email and SMS in Klaviyo, the partner-level integration keeps loyalty data inside the flows the team already has.

Program depth on Shopify. Seven tier levels, calendar-year status, multi-store rewards, and POS cover what most growing Shopify brands ask of a loyalty program.

Where LoyaltyLion Falls Short

The best parts sit on custom plans. Tiers need Advanced or a Classic add-on, real-time Klaviyo events come with Plus, and the free plan is closer to a demo than a program.

Contracts and setup effort. A reviewer wrote in August 2026 that “the setup requires more ongoing hand-holding than the sales conversation suggests” and that the team was “locked into the 12-month term regardless of performance.” Another merchant waited 12 days for a points import promised within 48 hours.

Compared to Maestra

LoyaltyLion assumes you keep Klaviyo, and it makes that pair work well. Maestra replaces the pair: loyalty, email, and SMS run on one profile, so there’s no sync to maintain and no Plus plan needed for real-time events. LoyaltyLion is also Shopify-only, while Maestra runs on Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento, and custom platforms.

4. Yotpo Loyalty – Best for Brands Buying Reviews and Loyalty From One Vendor

Yotpo Loyalty homepage

Starting price: Free plan available; Pro from $199/mo

Rating: 4.7 on the Shopify App Store

Yotpo now sells Reviews & UGC and Loyalty & Referrals, also as a bundle, plus Discover, a newer AI-visibility product in early access. It closed its email and SMS business in 2025 and named Attentive its preferred partner, so loyalty data reaches messages through Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, or Listrak. The loyalty product runs on Shopify, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, WooCommerce, and custom stores through an API.

Key Features

Points for Photo and Video Reviews

With Yotpo Reviews connected, customers earn points for written, photo, and video reviews, alongside birthdays and social actions. These earning rules start on Pro; the free plan rewards purchases and account creation only.

Yotpo rewards program with earning rules for photo and video reviews
Yotpo lists photo and video reviews next to purchases and spend goals as ways to earn, so reviews feed the points program

In-Store Loyalty Through Shopify POS

Shopify POS earning and redemption works on every plan. The two fuller in-store setups, shopper-managed with QR codes and associate-managed at the register, need Premium or Enterprise, and so does any POS other than Shopify.

At a Shopify POS register, staff see the customer’s points, pick a reward, and apply it to the cart

Tiers and Wallet Passes

Loyalty Tiers support up to 15 levels with up to three entry criteria, on Premium and Enterprise. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes come through a partner integration with Novel, for Shopify stores.

Yotpo Loyalty Tiers with Bronze to Platinum thresholds, rewards, and multipliers
Yotpo’s Loyalty Tiers set an entry threshold, a reward, and a points multiplier for each level

Referrals With Fraud Checks

Referrals run on every plan, Free included, and both the friend and the referring customer can get points or a discount. Each customer shares a unique link, which Yotpo prompts through on-site widgets, email, SMS, and the post-checkout page. Fraud prevention blocks referrals by IP address, billing address, and user agent.

Yotpo referral program setup with friend reward, coupon value, and reward text

Yotpo’s referral setup lets the brand choose a points or coupon reward for the referred friend and write the text shoppers see

Points Drop Campaigns

From the Pro plan, Points Drop adds expiring bonus points to a segment from Yotpo, Shopify, or Klaviyo, or to a CSV of up to 500,000 emails. Unused points disappear when the campaign ends, which gives shoppers a deadline to come back.

Yotpo Support

The free plan gets an AI chatbot, and Pro adds email support. Live chat with an agent, a customer success manager, and an onboarding manager start at Premium.

Yotpo Pricing

Free plan available. Pro starts at $199/mo with 500 orders and rises with volume to $599/mo at 5,000–5,999 orders, with custom quotes above that. Premium and Enterprise are custom quotes, and a Reviews + Loyalty bundle starts at $199/mo.

Where Yotpo Loyalty Wins

Reviews and loyalty under one contract. Brands that collect a lot of UGC can reward it with points without wiring two vendors together.

Platform coverage. Yotpo Loyalty runs on more e-commerce platforms than Smile.io or LoyaltyLion, including Adobe Commerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

Where Yotpo Loyalty Falls Short

Key features on custom plans. Tiers, non-Shopify POS, and live chat all sit on Premium, which has no public price. A retail controller who switched from Smile.io wrote in October 2025: “It is extremely expensive, they promised the world and really underdelivered. We were not able to customize like they said in sales pitch.”

A smaller product line. Brands that bought Yotpo for email, SMS, or subscriptions had to move those programs elsewhere when Yotpo closed them.

Compared to Maestra

Yotpo and Maestra overlap on loyalty and split on the rest. Yotpo adds reviews; Maestra adds email, SMS, push, and site personalization on the same profile as the program. Brands that keep a reviews app and move loyalty and messaging to Maestra end up with one profile behind every reward and message.

5. Kangaroo Rewards – Best for Multi-Location Local Businesses

Kangaroo Rewards homepage

Starting price: From $79/mo

Rating: 4.9 on the Shopify App Store

Kangaroo Rewards serves local and multi-location businesses, such as cafés, salons, gyms, and specialty retailers, that want loyalty at the register and online. Customers join with a phone number or email at the counter and redeem with a QR code.

Key Features

Tablet and QR Loyalty at the Register

A loyalty tablet at checkout, up to four per store, signs customers up and scans their QR codes. POS integrations include Shopify POS, Lightspeed, and Heartland.

Kangaroo’s counter tablet signs customers up by phone number, email, or QR code while they pay

Geofenced Offers

You drop a pin, set a radius from 100 meters to 5 kilometers, and Kangaroo sends an offer when a customer enters or leaves the zone. The offer can depend on the customer’s tier. Push offers go through Kangaroo’s branded app, which comes with the Elite plan.

A Kangaroo geofence draws a radius around the store and links it to a campaign that fires when customers come close

Email and SMS in the Loyalty Dashboard

From the Plus plan, welcome, birthday, and points-expiry campaigns run by email and SMS from the loyalty dashboard, segmented by tier, spend, and visits.

Kangaroo’s SMS editor drops each customer’s name, points balance, and tier into the message

Reports Across Every Location

The Business Portal manages all locations from one login. Reports filter by campaign, location, segment, and tier, and compare member and non-member spend. Every plan gets dashboard reporting; the full reporting module and multi-location tracking start on Plus.

Kangaroo’s dashboard shows points rewarded and redeemed, total members, and 30-day trends, with a filter for each branch

Tiers and Referrals on Plus

From the Plus plan, tiers can be gated by points, spend, or behavior such as event attendance, each with its own reward catalog, and customers move up or down automatically. Single- or double-sided referrals work in stores, online, and in the app.

Kangaroo Rewards Support

Support runs by chat, email, and phone. A branded app goes live in a few weeks, and Kangaroo handles the app store submission.

Kangaroo Rewards Pricing

Core costs $79/mo, Plus $199/mo, Elite $349/mo, and Enterprise is a custom quote. Core covers points and basic redemptions; tiers, referrals, Spin to Win, contests, and campaign tools start at Plus, and workflows, API access, and the branded app at Elite. On the Shopify App Store, a single $199 plan includes 1,000 orders, then $0.20 per order. There’s no free plan.

Where Kangaroo Rewards Wins

Fast in-store setup. A basic program can go live in about an hour, and the tablet, QR codes, and POS connections are built for counter staff.

Offers that reach nearby customers. Geofenced push offers around a store, a competitor, or a mall reach customers when they can walk in.

Where Kangaroo Rewards Falls Short

A thin entry plan. The $79 Core plan is points only, so most businesses end up on Plus at $199 or higher.

POS sync and reporting. A business on Heartland POS wrote in July 2026 that “the interface was not bringing all sales/returns over to our financial software.” Another reviewer noted in April 2026 that “it does not have very clear features on how we are performing.”

Compared to Maestra

Kangaroo Rewards fits a business whose customers mostly walk in: a café chain, a salon group, a local retailer. Maestra fits e-commerce-led brands with stores, where online behavior, email, SMS, and site personalization drive most of the revenue and loyalty has to sit on the same profile.

6. Voucherify – Best for Engineering Teams Building Custom Loyalty

Voucherify homepage

Starting price: From $650/mo (60-day free trial)

Voucherify is an API-first engine for loyalty, coupons, referrals, gift cards, and promotions. Your developers build the member experience on top of it, and Voucherify handles the rules, balances, and redemptions underneath.

Key Features

Multiple Point Currencies in One Program

Miles, cashback, and partner credits can run side by side, each wallet with its own expiry, pending period, and conversion rules. Tiers can follow points, spend, or event count, with rules overridden per tier.

One Voucherify program runs three point currencies side by side, each with its own earning rules and rewards

Loyalty and Promotions on One Engine

Coupons can be limited by tier, member-only prices can sit on top of promotions, and gamification covers streaks, milestones, and challenges.

Voucherify stacking rules mixing loyalty tier discounts, referrals, and promotions

Voucherify’s stacking rules decide which tier discounts, referral rewards, and promotions can combine on one order

Campaign Rules From a Prompt

Vincent, Voucherify’s AI agent, turns a plain-language request into a step-by-step plan, such as creating the segment, the campaign, and the validation rule, and nothing runs until a person approves or edits it. Before launch, it can run a readiness check that catches conflicts or missing conditions. Access is limited for now, with priority for Enterprise plans.

Vincent turns a plain request, a weekend flash sale for VIP members, into a campaign plan the team approves before launch

A Rewards Catalog With Tier Pricing

Members spend points on discount coupons, gift cards, or physical products, and each reward can carry a stock limit. A reward’s point price can differ by tier, so top-tier members can pay fewer points for the same item.

Voucherify Support

Business and Organization plans get email support, plus API docs, Postman collections, and a Slack community. Premium support and hands-on integration help come with Enterprise.

Voucherify Pricing

Business costs $650/mo with 25,000 API calls a month and 3 projects, and Organization $1,300/mo with 50,000 calls and 5 projects; Enterprise is custom. Billing follows API calls and projects rather than members, and every account starts with a 60-day free trial.

Where Voucherify Wins

Full control over the experience. Teams that want loyalty inside a custom app, a kiosk, or a partner system call the same rules everywhere.

A bill tied to usage. Pricing by API calls suits programs with large member bases and modest activity.

Where Voucherify Falls Short

No ready-made front end. There are no out-of-the-box loyalty widgets, so developers build the member pages. An open-source Next.js accelerator and a Shopify Plus accelerator built with an integrator are starting points rather than finished pages.

A limited Shopify app. The Shopify plugin handles only amount-off and percent-off discounts and ignores campaign validation rules. For more, Voucherify recommends Checkout Extensions, which need Shopify Plus or Enterprise, or Commerce Components, and works with integrators such as Omnivy.

Compared to Maestra

Voucherify suits teams with engineers who want to build the experience themselves. Maestra ships the member experience ready, from site widgets and checkout redemption to email blocks, and Maestra’s marketer sets it up, so a brand without a development team can still run a custom program.

7. Antavo – Best for Enterprise Programs With Complex Tiers and Gamification

Antavo homepage

Starting price: Custom pricing (contact sales)

Antavo is a loyalty-only platform for upper-mid-market and enterprise brands in retail, fashion, food, and hospitality. SKIMS, Paul Smith, KFC, Flying Tiger, and Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection run programs on it, and Gartner listed Antavo as a Representative Vendor in its 2026 Market Guide for Loyalty Program Vendors.

Key Features

Gamification Beyond Points

Challenges, missions, badges, streaks, prize wheels, scratch cards, and Clubs where members earn together. Points can also come from quizzes, surveys, reviews, and Garmin activity, and member cards go into Apple and Google Wallet.

Antavo storefront widget with shopping challenges, progress bars, and point rewards

Antavo challenges show members their progress toward a points reward, turning a product category into a goal

No-Code Workflows

A drag-and-drop editor lets the marketing team change program logic, trigger journeys on dates or events, and A/B test them after launch.

An Antavo workflow such as “Triple point bonus in July” is set up in a form, without a developer, once the program is live

Two-Way Shopify Integration

Customers redeem points at Shopify checkout to lower the subtotal without codes, new members get credit for past purchases, and several stores and currencies run from one workspace.

Antavo adds a points field to Shopify checkout, so members lower the subtotal without copying a code

AI Agents for Planning and Analysis

Antavo’s AI assistant answers a question about tier progression with charts built in the same view

Tier Rules for Upgrades and Downgrades

Tiers can be point-based, spend-based, or invitation-only. The team picks which events move a member up and which push them down, a refund can drop a member below a spend threshold, and status can expire on a calendar, rolling, or anniversary basis.

Antavo tiers management with point-based tier rules and tier-up and tier-down actions
Antavo lets the team choose which actions move a member up or down a tier, the control a program with many tiers needs

Antavo Support

Support runs 24/7 with SLAs, and the Antavo team helps with integration during setup. Focused programs take a few weeks to a few months to launch.

Antavo Pricing

Custom pricing (contact sales). The three plans, Start, Grow, and Enterprise, are billed on customer activity, so customers who don’t engage with your stores aren’t counted.

Where Antavo Wins

Gamification depth. Missions, streaks, prize wheels, scratch cards, and member clubs come built in, so a program can reward much more than purchases.

A planned path off plug-in apps. The Grow plan targets brands outgrowing plug-in loyalty apps, and the Shopify integration brings past purchases into the new program.

Where Antavo Falls Short

Loyalty only. Email and SMS run through partner tools such as Klaviyo, Braze, or Bloomreach, so every campaign that mentions points depends on an integration.

A project to launch. There are no public prices, a sales call is the only way in, and setup needs integration work before the marketing team takes over.

Compared to Maestra

Antavo and Maestra both handle complex programs. Antavo hands points data to your email and SMS vendor, while Maestra runs those channels on the same profile and includes a marketer who maps the strategy and creates and optimizes the campaigns.

8. Salesforce Loyalty Management – Best for Enterprises Already Running Salesforce

Salesforce Loyalty Management homepage

Starting price: From $20,000/mo per org, billed annually

Salesforce Loyalty Management sits in Marketing Cloud, next to Referral Marketing and Real-Time Offer Management. It handles B2C and B2B programs and keeps loyalty data in the same Salesforce org as sales, service, and marketing.

Key Features

Loyalty Events That Trigger Journeys

Tier upgrades, points milestones, expiring rewards, and new enrollments can start Marketing Cloud journeys in real time, and tier, balance, and expiry data feed email and SMS.

Any Program Mechanic

Points, tiers, cashback, punch cards, or a mix of them, with custom currencies and rewards for referrals, reviews, and app activity.

Each tier in Salesforce Loyalty Management carries its own benefits, such as longer return windows or early access to new products

Member Groups

Individual and corporate members can join groups, such as a family or a company account, and each member decides what share of their points goes to each group, up to 100% in total. Points can move to the group in real time as they’re credited, while redeeming from a group needs a custom process set up by an admin. Member groups require the Growth or Advanced edition.

One Salesforce loyalty program can hold corporate and individual members side by side, so B2B and B2C programs share an org

Games, Vouchers, and Promotions

Every edition includes Spin the Wheel and Scratchcard games that award points, vouchers, or custom rewards. Voucher management and a promotion wizard are in every edition too. Member badges, the promotion calendar, and promotion simulation start on Growth.

Salesforce Loyalty Management starts each program from a launchpad of promotions, games, vouchers, partners, and processes

Liability Forecasting and Fraud Dashboards

All editions forecast program liability for the coming months and include dashboards for spotting potential fraud. Growth and Advanced can also hold members’ points in escrow until the return period ends.

Salesforce Loyalty Management Support

The Standard Success Plan is included. Premier costs 30% of net license fees and adds 24/7 support for business-critical issues, and Signature, with a designated success manager, is priced through an account executive. Implementation usually runs through Salesforce Professional Services or a certified partner.

Salesforce Loyalty Management Pricing

Starter costs $20,000 per org per month, Growth $35,000, and Advanced $45,000, all billed annually. Starter covers 1 million loyalty events a year and 50,000 API calls a day; Growth raises that to 15 million and 100,000, and Advanced to 50 million and 500,000. A 30-day free trial is available.

Where Salesforce Loyalty Management Wins

One CRM for everything. If sales, service, and marketing already run on Salesforce, loyalty data lands where every team works.

B2B and B2C together. Member groups and multi-program support cover dealer, corporate, and consumer programs in one org.

Where Salesforce Loyalty Management Falls Short

Price and plan gates. Partner management, member badges, and the rules designer are missing from Starter, and running more than one program requires the $45,000 Advanced edition.

Partners usually required. Point-and-click tools handle configuration, but the integration and program build typically need partners or Professional Services, and Premier support adds 30% to the license.

Compared to Maestra

Salesforce Loyalty Management makes sense for a company standardized on Salesforce with the budget and team for an enterprise build. Maestra starts at about a tenth of the price, month-to-month, with the migration and campaigns handled by the Maestra team.

9. Capillary Technologies – Best for Multi-Brand Enterprise Groups

Capillary Technologies homepage

Starting price: 12-month contract from $100,000 (AWS Marketplace)

Capillary runs loyalty for 415+ brands in 49 countries, with 1.9 billion+ consumer profiles on the platform, and North America brings 60% of its revenue. Forrester named it a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Loyalty Platforms, Q4 2025. Capillary bought Brierley+Partners in 2023, Kognitiv in 2025, and SessionM from Mastercard in 2026.

Key Features

Program Types for Complex Groups

Multi-brand programs for conglomerates, coalition and partner programs, and channel programs for dealers and distributors, alongside consumer loyalty online and in store.

aiRA for Campaign Setup

Marketers describe a promotion, an audience, or a campaign in chat, and aiRA builds it as a draft that stays inactive until someone creates it and switches it on. It runs test cases to check that the right points, targets, and caps apply, and it answers questions about program data while showing the query it ran. Each build, question, or test draws credits from the account’s balance.

Capillary aiRA chat building a sale campaign, audience, and email plan

aiRA builds a campaign, its audience, and the email from one chat request and lists every step before anything goes live

Adobe Experience Platform Connector

Capillary streams loyalty events, such as points activity, tier changes, and new transactions, into Adobe Experience Platform in real time. Data flows one way for now, from Capillary to Adobe, where Real-Time CDP and Journey Optimizer can use it. Capillary’s customer success team sets up the connection once per organization and can move historical data in a one-time CSV migration.

Adobe Experience Platform review step connecting the Capillary Streaming Events source

Capillary connects to Adobe Experience Platform as a streaming source, so loyalty events land in the profiles Adobe already uses

Strategy From Brierley

Program strategy and consulting come from Brierley, a loyalty agency that has worked on programs since 1986, launched 7-Eleven’s 7Rewards in 2018, and joined Capillary in 2023. Its analysts and data scientists work with the strategy consultants on segmentation and modeling. The creative team handles program positioning, naming, UX, and communications design.

Loyalty Nudges

A panel on the Loyalty+ home page suggests program changes, such as adding a higher tier or encouraging redemptions, each with a forecasted impact. It also flags long-running trends and sudden anomalies in program KPIs.

Capillary Loyalty+ suggestions to add a higher tier, encourage redemption, and ask for referrals

Capillary’s Loyalty+ turns member data into suggested changes, such as adding a higher tier or nudging members to redeem their rewards

Capillary Support

Capillary doesn’t list support plans publicly; service terms come with each enterprise contract, and strategy work runs through Brierley.

Capillary Pricing

A 12-month Loyalty+ contract starts at $100,000 on AWS Marketplace and scales with the units committed. Loyalty+ is priced on members and transactions, and the aiRA layer on usage and outcomes.

Where Capillary Wins

Scale across brands and markets. A group with several brands and countries can run them on one platform, including coalition and partner programs.

Adobe-ready loyalty data. Points, tiers, rewards, and transactions flow into Adobe Real-Time CDP and Journey Optimizer, which suits groups that already run Adobe.

Where Capillary Falls Short

Opaque pricing. There are no public prices, and fees grow with members and transactions.

Several platforms under one name. Capillary has bought several loyalty platforms, including Kognitiv and SessionM, so ask in the demo which one your program will run on.

Compared to Maestra

Capillary fits global groups that run coalition, partner, or dealer programs at enterprise scale. Maestra fits mid-size and enterprise e-commerce brands that want loyalty and messaging on one profile without a long implementation, and with a dedicated marketer doing the build.

10. GRAVTY – Best for Airlines, Hotel Groups, and Coalition Programs

GRAVTY homepage

Starting price: 12-month contract from $100,000 (AWS Marketplace)

GRAVTY, built by Loyalty Juggernaut, runs on AWS serverless infrastructure and has 400 million+ members in production. Customers include WestJet Rewards, Emirates Skywards Everyday, the GHA DISCOVERY hotel alliance, and Deutsche Telekom’s Magenta Moments.

Key Features

A Patented No-Code Rules Engine

Business users build offers, tiers, and communications in a visual rules engine, patented in the US, without engineering tickets.

GRAVTY visual rules engine building an offer rule from activity filters and actions

GRAVTY’s rules engine builds an offer from blocks: an activity filter, a purchase rule by product category, and actions that update member attributes

Partner Ecosystems

GRAVTY is built for programs with hundreds of partners: Emirates Skywards Everyday has 400+, and GHA DISCOVERY spans 40+ hotel brands in 100+ countries.

GRAVTY keeps every partner brand, from airlines to banks, on one sponsors screen with its industry and status

Airline-Scale Migrations

WestJet moved 10 million+ travelers to GRAVTY with zero disruption. The platform handles 30,000+ transactions per second at peak with a 99.99% uptime SLA.

Real-Time KPIs and an AI Analyst

GRAVTY tracks program performance with real-time analytics and pre-built KPIs. Compass, its conversational AI analyst launched in October 2025, answers in plain language why a metric changed, and MCP servers bring it into ChatGPT and Claude.

GRAVTY program dashboard with members, active offers, sales, and points liability
GRAVTY’s dashboard puts members, active offers, sales, and outstanding points liability on one screen

Points Liability Accounting

FIDIVIO, GRAVTY’s finance module, tracks the cost and value of every point issued and redeemed. It covers liability, breakage, IFRS-compliant P&L statements, and what-if scenario planning.

GRAVTY Support

Follow-the-sun support runs 24x7x365 with committed SLAs, through the NEWTON portal or email.

GRAVTY Pricing

A 12-month contract costs $100,000 on AWS Marketplace. The license grows with member profiles, locations, and countries, implementation is priced after discovery, and strategy work runs on a retainer.

Where GRAVTY Wins

Coalition and partner programs. GRAVTY’s reference programs run earn-and-burn across hundreds of partners, from hotel alliances to telecom rewards.

Proven migrations at airline scale. WestJet’s move is the reference most travel brands will ask about.

Where GRAVTY Falls Short

Built for millions of members. The pricing and implementation model assumes a large program, so a retail brand with a few hundred thousand customers pays for capacity it won’t use.

Little public review data. There are no recent customer reviews on Trustpilot or Capterra to check day-to-day experience, so ask for references.

Compared to Maestra

GRAVTY and Maestra serve different buyers. GRAVTY is for travel and coalition programs where managing partners is the hard part. Maestra is for retail and e-commerce brands whose program has to show up in email, SMS, and on the site.

Choosing Loyalty Program Software for Your Business Size

Maestra is the strongest choice for mid-size and enterprise retail and e-commerce brands that want loyalty to drive email, SMS, and the website. It replaces a separate loyalty app, email tool, and onsite personalization with one customer profile, and a Forward Deployed Marketer maps the strategy, builds the program, and creates and optimizes campaigns with your team.

The rest of the list maps to size and setup. Smile.io and Kangaroo Rewards serve small stores and local chains at small prices. LoyaltyLion and Yotpo Loyalty cover growing Shopify brands that keep a separate email tool, and Voucherify suits teams with engineers. Antavo, Salesforce Loyalty Management, Capillary, and GRAVTY serve enterprise programs with enterprise budgets.

Before you sign, price the plan at next year’s order volume, ask to see points inside a real cart email, and read reviews from the last 12 months only.

Book a Maestra demo to see your loyalty program, email, and SMS running on one customer profile.

  • Yes: Maestra, Kangaroo Rewards, Capillary, and the main Shopify apps let customers earn and redeem points both online and in stores, with different POS coverage. Smile.io, LoyaltyLion, and Yotpo Loyalty work with Shopify POS; other POS systems need Yotpo’s Premium plan, and several LoyaltyLion locations need Advanced. Maestra runs one program across the website, app, and stores, with a separate module for custom POS systems. Promotions can be limited to specific stores, regions, the website, or the app, and a message about an available discount can appear at the register as well as in the online cart.
  • Ask the new vendor to migrate members, balances, and tiers for you and to keep the old program running until the switch. On Maestra, a Forward Deployed Marketer handles the migration, and the old platform stays live until setup is complete. Svaha USA moved its loyalty program, email, and SMS to Maestra right before peak season. Nikki Brown, its Marketing & Operations Director, says: “Our Maestra marketer helped us migrate under a crazy deadline, and the service hasn’t dropped since.”
