Sign-Up Form That Built Hype and Secured Day One Sales
UAG’s Mega Sale is a week-long annual event — the entire site goes 60% off for just six minutes a day.
Previously, the team relied on social media to promote the sale and only started emailing when it went live. This year, they shifted the effort to email and SMS — and started weeks earlier. A dedicated sign-up form went live weeks before launch. Subscribers registered, shared it, waited — the sale became an event before it even started.

Everyone who signed up received a detailed email explaining how the format works: daily windows, exact timing, what to expect. By Day One, these people understood the rules and were ready to act. Subscribers also shared the sign-up link with friends — the hype spread beyond the existing audience.

Funny enough, the sign-up form didn't gate anything — every active subscriber got the sale emails too. But subscribers who had been tracking the countdown for weeks came prepared — they understood the format, knew the timing, and were ready to buy the moment the window opened.
Sale Emails Redesigned Around Urgency
With a six-minute daily window, timing is everything. The Maestra team added countdown timers to every sale email — something that was hard to pull off on the previous platform. Now each message showed exactly how long until the next window, matching the email experience to the intensity of the sale itself.

Send-Time Fix That Gave Shoppers Time to Prepare
On Day 1, reminder emails went out about an hour before the sale window. The result — only about 10% of recipients opened in time. A six-minute flash sale needs more than sixty minutes of lead time.
The team caught it the same day and shifted emails to 2.5 hours before each window. From Day 2 onward, subscribers had enough time to see the message, plan ahead, and show up when the window opened.
The team also pushed SMS sends earlier — with a large list, carriers need time to deliver every message, and a six-minute window leaves no room for late arrivals.

The Bottom Line
Better pre-sale hype, redesigned emails, and a quick timing fix added up to 30% more orders from the same annual sale format. Same discount, same products, same audience — just better preparation. A familiar sale doesn’t mean there’s nothing left to improve.
